Former NILE And DIVINE HERESY Bassist Arrested On Drug Charge

According to WSOC-TV, the ABC-affiliated television station in Charlotte, North Carolina, former NILE and DIVINE HERESY bassist Joseph Payne was arrested in connection with an investigation into the distribution of more than 2,900 grams of marijuana in the Iredell County area.

Payne, 28, and John Tringas, 23, were involved with marijuana being transported from the Charlotte area and distributed in Iredell County, the investigators told WSOC-TV.

After conducting a search warrant at Payne's residence, the sheriff's office seized more than 2,900 grams of marijuana, three handguns and more than $5,000.

Payne and Tringas were charged with felony possession with the intent to sell and deliver marijuana, felony possession of marijuana and maintaining a vehicle.

Payne quit DIVINE HERESY in January 2011, explaining in a statement that "[his] passion for this project [had] been insufficient for quite sometime now."
